CELEBRATE: No Shave November

No Shave November. Maybe you've heard of it. A few years ago, I was introduced to the Movember organization. The goal of Movember (combining the words "mustache" and "November") is to encourage men to grow a mustache during the month of November to raise awareness for early cancer detection in men. Movember advocates and No Shave November participants (who choose to grow out full facial hair) share a goal to "change the face of cancer."

In January of 2013 my brother, Ned, lost his life to cancer at the age of 38. His battle was short and his cancer was aggressive. It's hard to say whether or not an earlier detection would have made a difference for my big brother, but it might make a difference for you.

As you are going about your days during the beautiful month of November, be reminded to go see your doctor for a routine check-up. Tell a man you love to get checked for prostate cancer. If you are a man participating in No Shave November or Movember let me extend a huge THANK YOU for raising cancer awareness! Now get to growing that facial hair.
